The Committee emphasizes that the National Syrian Council, as a body representing the Syrian revolution and chosen by the Syrian people as its legitimate representative, should ensure that all members, during this critical period, rise above any personal desires or interests. The Committee calls for everyone to forget their names and histories, and to only remember that their birthdate is March 15, 2011, in order to correct the course of action within the Council, as it is a "necessary means" towards achieving the revolution’s "ultimate goal" of victory.

The National Unity Committee sees the necessity of "expertise, not loyalty," as the governing criterion within the Council. It emphasizes that all members of the National Council should be assigned tasks with a timeline for implementation. Those who fail to fulfill their assignments should step back, allowing those with expertise and competence to move forward, in order to prioritize the higher public interests and reject personal gains.
